About the project

The DigiRoot project aims to assist small and medium-sized grassroots sports clubs across Europe in adopting digital technology to enhance their operations, increase efficiency, and support their long-term sustainability. Grassroots sports clubs are a vital part of the European sports landscape, contributing to individual and community well-being, social inclusion, health, social cohesion, and economic growth. However, the majority of these clubs lack the resources and expertise to implement digital solutions effectively, leaving them behind in the digital transformation. Low digitalization levels in grassroots sports clubs can be attributed to resource constraints, limited information, and a lack of staff with IT and digital skills. Many grassroots clubs lack the resources and knowledge to manage the digitalization process effectively.
